‘Tis the season for… gear shopping! Though I’m personally not a fan of turning holidays into shopping binges, it’s hard to ignore the great deals on bikepacking gear.
This page lists the best Black Friday and holiday deals I’ve found when it comes to bikepacking and outdoor gear I know and love. I’ve used most of this stuff for thousands of miles and have published detailed reviews based on my experience, which I’ll link to alongside the deals.

These innovative fork bags attach to the cage with a built-in rear strap. Seems like a minor detail until you realize you don’t need to unstrap and re-strap them every day, and the things you put in them (potato chips, avocados…) won’t get squished. Their normal price of $70 is a bit steep for a fork bag, but at $57 I think they’re a good buy.

Ridge Merino’s Solstice Hoodie is one of my favorites for bikepacking, especially in cooler weather. It’s roomy, comfy, very smooth (no itching) and has a hood big enough to fit over a bike helmet. I don’t recommend it for very hot weather, but otherwise it’s excellent.

I tested these on a few trips this year and despite my initial skepticism I’m now a big fan, especially for bikepacking. It’s a quirky idea but the execution is so good that it really works. The soft cord makes them comfy to wear with a bike helmet, easy to pack, and hard to break.

If you run a dynamo hub and want rugged bikepacking-worthy lighting and charging, the kLite system is the best you can buy in my opinion. I use mine for long nights during bikepack races and remote trips abroad with limited power grid access.

Odds and Ends on Amazon
Amazon does their holiday deals a bit differently, and it’s hard to tell if/when these items might be on sale. But these are some of my absolute favorite purchases to keep an eye on if you’re placing Amazon orders in the next week or two:
Sawyer Squeeze water filter: Currently 24% off for Black Friday, an excellent all-around backcountry water filter. I’ve used these extensively over the years and find them to be the best combo of light weight and high flow rate, especially for yucky water because they’re easy to backflush. I highly recommend pairing with the CNOC Vecto dirty bag instead of the pouches it comes with.
Airshot Tubeless Tire Inflator: If you mount your own tubeless tires, this thing is a lifesaver! It’s taken me from hours of struggling (and the occasional emergency slink down to the bike shop) to quick and confident tubeless installs.
JetBoil MicroMo: My go-to for both solo and couple trips, with just enough capacity for “add boiling water” type meals in both cases. Boils water extremely fast even in windy conditions, which saves fuel as well as frustration.
Toaks titanium cookware: Currently on sale, not sure for how long. If cooking with a regular stove I recommend their titanium pots, very lightweight and durable with thoughtful sizing.
