The ideal spot is private, 200+ feet away from any trails, campsites, or water sources, and has sunlight and dark organic soil to help with decomposition. Facing slightly downhill is comfier. Bonus points for good views!

When it comes to wiping, some  people swear by smooth rocks and leaves. Others use a squirt bottle as a "bidet." It's fine to use toilet paper, but use sparingly and please pack it out! A ziplock bag discreetly hidden inside a paper bag works fine.
