Osprey Salida 12 Women's MTB Pack

The women's Salida 12 (and Siskin 12 for the guys) is a great all-around hydration pack for long days on the bike. Except for a couple minor gripes about the pockets, it's a fantastic buy.

For me the Salida backpack is comfy enough, even when wearing it all day long. It distributes load well and doesn't chafe anywhere. The ventilated back panel helps with airflow on hot days.

The Salida 12 holds 2.5 liters of water and 12 liters of gear. That's plenty! While bikepacking I carry part of my sleep system and a day's worth of food in the main pocket, with room to spare. Throw in lunch, warm layers, and tools for a day ride with no trouble.

The hip pocket design is a bit strange: the zipper is blocked by the shoulder strap (at least on my body). I also wish this pack had an accessible phone pocket, but most MTB packs don't.
